I've always been fascinated with visual arts. I've been creating fine art since a young child, but I've always been interested in creating animations. Computation is the missing piece in this journey. Through coding, I plan to create interactive animation elements. I plan to expand this into virtual reality and augmented reality. I hope that through my Intro to Computational media class, I get the tools and knowledge to a build virtual reality environment that influences others.



In the first assignment, I decided to go very literal in my choices for how to create my self-portrait. I found it difficult to think outside the box and attempted to overlap shapes in order to create the different elements, such as hair, clothes, etc. In order to give the portrait a more accurate representation of my feature, I included my very distinct birthmark, and thick eyebrows. I found the p5.js program to be very helpful when catching mistakes. I hope to continue expanding my creativity in order to better capture my ideas through this program.
